Dance Project: NTU Hall of Residence 6 Dinner and Dance 2013

Posted: September 6, 2013 in Uncategorized

The second dance project that I had been involved in during the month of August was for NTU Hall 6’s Annual Dinner and Dance 2013. I was brought in as the choreographer and dance co-ordinator for the 8 very beautiful and handsome pageant contestants.

Hosted by Leslie from Seraphim Talents and Michelle Koh, a Singtel Grid Girl Finalist, they really kept the crowd entertained for the whole night. The Guest of Honor for the night was Zaqy Mohamed, Member of Parliament(MP) for Choa Chu Kang GRC.

Held at York Hotel, this year’s theme was Whimsical Wanderlust. As such, I decided to come up with a more upbeat and energetic choreography to Bruno Mars’ Treasure and Usher’s Scream.

With only 2 weeks to prepare, I must say that this was the best bunch of contestants that I have had the pleasure of working with. Not only were they able to learn the complete choreography in just 4 practice sessions, they were also incredibly committed and would rehearse by themselves before I came down. Really proud of all of them!

That night was also made better with the many people that I got to meet. Other than the Guest of Honor, I got to meet a few of the sponsors for the event. Cleo from Obsessions of the Damsel (OOTD) was the sponsor for the casual wear and Dicky from The Wedding Couture Bridal was the sponsor for the gowns and formal attire. The pieces on the contestants were really superb, I must say.

This event had been a really wonderful working experience for me. Many thanks to the Chairperson, Venice, and all the other committee members that were so accommodating. Can’t wait to see what happens next year!

Drop a comment if you would like to collaborate on any events/projects! Till then, Keep in Taj.
